What is a green forage harvester

Sep. 16, 2019

No matter what kind of grass resources are used as the pre-treatment process of green feed, it is generally inseparable from the green forage harvester.

It is often said that the green forage harvester only refers to the process of harvesting or collecting the chopped green crops grown in the field.

There are many types of green forage harvesters at home and abroad, and the basic classification of green forage harvesters at home and abroad is shown in Figure 1.

among them:

High-stalked green forage harvester - mainly harvesting high-stalk crops such as corn and sunflower as field harvesting machinery for green fodder;

Low-stalk green forage harvester - a field harvester that mainly harvests low-stalk grass materials as green feed;

Picking up the green forage harvester - a field harvesting machine that uses the grass strips already formed in the field as feed;

Rotor green forage harvester - cutting cutter and Fuhe drum are named after the rotor type, which can harvest high and low stalk green feed with or without branches;

Full-cut green forage harvester, ie high-stalked green forage harvester without branching;

Chain-type green forage harvester, including two cases, one is a chain-type harvester that mainly completes field harvesting; later developed into a fine-cut green forage harvester;

The so-called universal type means that the same host is called a general-purpose green forage harvester by changing the prefix to adapt to high-stalk harvesting, low-stalk harvesting, and straw harvesting.

The so-called dual-use type is a so-called green feed harvesting machine that can complete branch or non-separation. It is actually a high-stalk and low-stalk dual-purpose green forage harvester.

In terms of structure or function, on the green forage harvester, it is obviously composed of two parts:

The first part: the collecting platform, complete the cutting and collecting of the green feed in different states, which can be called the prefix.

The second part: completed the feeding of the stalk into all the broken pieces of grass and thrown out of the machine. This part is actually said to be a chopper, which can be called a host on a green forage harvester.
