The general-purpose green forage harvester is more complex in structure, but it is widely adaptable (can be used to harvest a variety of green fodder and silage) and is therefore widely used. It consists mainly of a header (cutting part) and a fuselage (chopped part).
1·header
There are three types of headers: full-width headers, pick-up headers, and corn headers. Any one can be assembled depending on the harvested object.
1 full-width header. Used for harvesting low-stalk crops, including reciprocating cutters, grass wheels, and augers (collected to the center).
2 pick up the header. Used for picking silage or low moisture silage. It consists of a picker and a two-way auger.
3 corn headers. Also known as silage headers. Harvest high-stalk crops (silage corn), 2 to 4 rows. The silage corn header is composed of a holder, a cutter, a straw, and the like. The cutter has three types: a swing knife type, a double disc knife type and a single disc type. Clamping mechanism
2. Body part
The fuselage section mainly has a feeding device and a shreddering device. The fuselage and any of the above accessories (header) can be combined to cut the various green feeds into pieces and then throw them into the trailer hanging behind. In addition to these components on the fuselage, there are rack wheels and transmission sections. The self-propelled harvester also has an engine and maneuvering section.
